The country has seen a persistent use of FinTech and related technologies of late. In fact, Vision 2030 has pushed for a diversified and effective financial sector to support the development of the national economy which has led to the creation of the Financial Sector Development (FSD) programme, which has led to the faster adoption of FinTech.
Humble beginnings
In spite of growing prospects, the Saudi FinTech industry is still at a nascent stage in terms of infrastructure and regulatory frameworks. Authorities like SAMA and CMA are working rigorously to provide opportunities for FinTech start-ups to commercialize and expand to meet the demands put forward by vision 2030.
